Have an Invention Idea? Here's Your Roadmap.
RMA Engineering is the New Jersey product development team that takes founders from napkin sketch to finished product — without licensing your IP, charging you for “submission packages,” or handing you off to a network of contractors.
Sound familiar?
You have the idea, but you don't know who actually builds things.
Every result on Google is either a generic "manufacturer" overseas, a slick agency that just designs renderings, or a referral service that takes a finder's fee and disappears.
You're worried about your IP.
The horror stories are real. Send your idea to the wrong firm and you'll see knockoffs on Amazon six months later. Or you'll get locked into a licensing deal that gives away half your invention.
You don't know what you don't know.
What's a prototype actually for? Do you need a patent before you build? What does "design for manufacturing" mean? Where do you even start?
If any of this hits home — you're in the right place.
How we take an idea to a finished product
Four stages. One team. You keep everything.
Discovery
We start with a call. You tell us your idea, we ask hard questions, you walk away with a clearer plan — whether you hire us or not.
Design
Our engineers translate your idea into 3D CAD models and detailed drawings. You see exactly what we're going to build before we build it.
Prototype
We build a working prototype in our workshop using the right manufacturing methods for your product — 3D printing, CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding tooling, whichever fits.
Manufacture
When the prototype works, we move to production. Low-volume runs to full manufacturing, all under one roof, all with your IP staying yours.
What stays yours: everything.
Every drawing, every CAD file, every prototype, every supplier relationship. You own 100% of the work — always. We don't take royalties, equity, or licensing rights.
What makes us different
| Comparison | RMA Engineering | Most “invention” companies |
|---|---|---|
| Who builds your product | Mechanical engineers on staff | Outsourced contractor network |
| Who keeps your IP | You — 100%, always | They take rights or charge for "submissions" |
| What you actually get | A working product, ready to manufacture | A patent search, a brochure, a rendering |
| Where the work happens | Our New Jersey workshop | Various third parties |
| What you pay for | Engineering hours and materials | Marketing packages and finder fees |
